A makeup artist, sometimes known as a make-up artist and frequently abbreviated as MUA, is an artist whose medium is the human body who uses prosthetics and makeup on people for theater, television, cinema, fashion, magazines, and other comparable enterprises, including all facets of the modeling industry. The Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling[1] and accolades from the entertainment business, like the Emmy Awards[2][3] and the Golden Globes,[2][4] are given for this profession. [4] For agencies to hire MUAs in several nations, professional licenses are necessary. Larger production companies[5] employ makeup artists in-house, but most MUAs are independent, and their schedules are variable depending on the job.
